The Grand Lodge Scholarship and Essay Contest

THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION MATERIAL FOR THIS YEAR HAS PASSED.  THE INFORMATION BELOW IS FOR REFERENCE ONLY.

The Grand Lodge of the Vasa Order of America offers the following to students attending or planning to attend institutions of higher education.

ONE $3,000 GRAND Scholarship:
For full-time graduate study in the United States, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, or Norway. 
Two years Vasa membership required to qualify.

Up to TEN  $1,000 COLLEGE or VOCATIONAL School Scholarships:
Awarded to students  to continue education at an institution of higher learning.
One year Vasa membership required to qualify.

ONE $1,000 Scholarship -- the IRMA & KNUTE CARLSON Award:
To an upper class college student (junior or senior) or a Graduate Student.
One year Vasa membership required to qualify.
ONE $2,000 Scholarship -- the ELLIS F. HILLNER Award:
To a student who plans to enter or is already enrolled at an accredited institution for a career in the medical field.
One year Vasa membership required to qualify..
ONE $1,500 Scholarship -- the L. EINAR and EDITH NILSSON Award:
To a high school senior or college undergraduate for continued education at an accredited institution of higher learning.
One year Vasa membership  in either DL Connecticut No. I, DL Massachusetts No. 2 or DL Rhode Island No. 3 required to qualify..
ONE $1,500 Scholarship -- the GLADYS A. and RUSSELL M. BIRTWISTLE AWARD:
To a high school senior or college undergraduate for continued education at an accredited institution of higher learning.
One year Vasa membership  in either DL Connecticut No. I, DL Massachusetts No. 2 or DL Rhode Island No. 3 required to qualify..
ONE $3,000 Scholarship -- the OSCAR and MILDRED LARSON  Award:
For  college or graduate work at  an accredited four-year College or University in the United States. Applicant must be Swedish born or of Swedish ancestry and a resident of the United States, Canada or Sweden. Recipient may apply each of three years following the initial award for a total amount of $12,000 over a four-year period.

Applications were available at the VASA website or from the Vice Grand Master until Jan.15
TO BE CONSIDERED, ALL MATERIAL MUST REACH THE VICE GRAND MASTER BY FEB 10 EACH YEAR
ALL CONTEST INFORMATION IS PRINTED ANNUALLY IN THE OCTOBER ISSUE OF THE  "VASA STAR".
