MESSAGE FROM THE GRAND MASTER
Dear vasa members, Greetings for the new year! Hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays along with Lucia and other festivals. Now we must enjoy the remainder of the winter with wonderful weather and friends to be around. Here in New Jersey we have the cold, snow, friends and plenty of coffee. Above all, we must stay positive because spring will be with us soon. Nancy and I will be making our first 2019 convention visit to Pacific Southwest District 15 the last week in February and then Rhode Island District 3 the beginning of April.
New website: The new Grand Lodge website is up and running but still needs work from all Districts and Lodges to become current. We are asking all Districts and Local Lodges to appoint a member to maintain their respective web pages with Officers and an updated event calendar to start. To do so, contact the Grand Lodge Webmaster Robert (Bob) Anderson and request assistance in setting up a username, password and a tutorial in managing the web page. This is not difficult. Once set up it should not take your representative more than 30 minutes a month to keep it current. If you have your own private website, then request Webmaster Bob to provide a link to it. The success of the web depends on you. Don’t forget the Grand Lodge is on many social media platforms.
I enjoy seeing many Lodges putting information and pictures on Facebook. Great work!
On a sad note I am sorry to report that our Brother Richard Horngren passed after a recent illness on January 11, 2019, at the age of 84. He was a member for almost 59 years, and was extremely involved in Linde Lodge No. 492, District 8, the Grand Lodge and the National Archives in Bishop Hill. Richard and his wife Lillemor were our first Archivists, considered co-founders with PGM Bertil Winstrom of our Vasa Archives.
We cannot forget MEMBERSHIP; there are many folks waiting to join our wonderful organization and need YOUR help. Catch the spirit of ENTHUSIASM and TV TV TV (“Talk Vasa”). in truth and unity,
